The Lost Crusade is comprised of two individuals with a common goal. Raise as much money for charity as possible, while having the adventure of a lifetime. And.....survive to talk about it.
On July 21, 2009 we will set out to complete the Mongolia Charity Rally, a road rally that covers one-third of the globe, starting in London, England and ending in Ulaanbataar, Mongolia. With luck, determination and your help and support, we will succeed.
The Mongolia Charity Rally is not a typical rally. Many of the teams won’t even make it to the finish line and the first person who does is crowned the loser. It’s a journey designed for wrong turns and engine trouble. There are no support crews or chase vehicles. There is no set route. Teams choose their own path, often going as far north as the Arctic Circle and as far south as Iran. Bribes are part of the game and breakdowns in remote, roadless expanses are commonplace. The risks are innumerable. The danger level is high. The ending is uncertain.

Our Charities
Besides having a grand adventure and traveling around the world, we want to raise awareness and support for two amazing charities, Save the Children and The dZi Foundation. You can learn more about them below.
To make it easy for you, we will be using a direct, donor-to-charity service called Firstgiving to collect donations for our charities. After we meet our goal of $1500 for Save the Children, all future donations will go to support the dZi Foundation, another amazing charitable organization.
Save the Children is a leading, independent organization creating lasting change for children in need in the United States, Mongolia and around the world. They are a member of the International Save the Children Alliance, comprising 27 national Save the Children organizations working in more than 120 countries to ensure the well-being of children. Thanks to you, we have raised more than $1000 for Save the Children. With our goal met, we will now focus on helping out another amazing organization, the dZi Foundation.
THE dZi Foundation supports twenty-two health, education, and community development programs throughout the Himalayan region of India and Nepal. They serve communities not on the radar of other International Non-Governmental Organizations due to caste make-up and remote location.
