Minnesota grown, Randall Tate was born and raised in Duluth on the shores of Lake Superior. A curiosity in the natural world and destinations beyond the Minnesota borders came early in life. With travel, came the desire to tell the story with images. Photography soon filled the role. His competence in a wide range of outdoor pursuits, be it ski mountaineering, rock climbing, canyoneering or white water rafting, gives him access to a variety of unique, and sometimes extreme surroundings and sets his imagery apart. Always trying to capture the human element within the greater environment, Randall’s images draw the viewer in with a sense of place, beauty, and drama.
